Note: From September onwards, our Fast Track course has been split into 2 courses – Beginner Roof & Beginner Wall to allow sufficient time to cover both topics. We recommend picking one to start with and come back in a few months to learn the other one, but we will accept back to back registrations.

Beginner Roof Week 1: we work through 10 jobs starting with a basic rectangle, working up to multi-level jobs.

Week 2: we workshop real jobs, then finish with an assessment. Feedback is provided to supervisors.

Beginner Wall Week 1: we work through 2 jobs starting with a simple single level job, working up to a multi-level job.

Week 2: we workshop real jobs, then finish with an assessment. Feedback is provided to supervisors.

Beginner Floor We start with a basic job, then workshop real jobs. 3 days Anyone who is confident with multi-level Master Plan input.
Beginner Floor Cassettes We work through a series of jobs, working through the various facets of floor cassettes. 2 days Anyone who is confident with designing floor trusses from layout.
Note: Beginner floor and floor cassettes are often run back to back, so you can attend both.
Advanced Roof
  • Advanced Perimeter Lines:
    • Split levels
    • Box gutters
    • Portico
  • Advanced Roof Planes: covers phantom planes, 3d planes, manual planes, plane breaks via the following job types
    • Northlight
    • Mansard
    • 2 jobs for phantom planes specifically
  • Advanced Ceiling Planes:
    • Ceiling planes
    • Ceiling planes in 3D
    • Ceiling polygons
    • Split levels
3 days Anyone who is confident with basic jobs (minimum 3 months experience – but preferably 6 months). We’ve found that participants with 15 years experience get something out of this course, as do participants with 6 months experience.
Advanced Wall
  • Design lintels, beams and critical studs
  • Add custom loads
  • Design bracing
1 day Confident wall detailers, who want to learn how to design elements in their wall jobs.
